RIG CONDITION SURVEY
Our rig auditing service provides comprehensive information on the condition of the rig and its equipment that can help prevent potentially costly system failures
It is our objective to deliver a comprehensive reliability assessment and give an accurate insight into the state of maintenance and working condition of the rig by a detailed evaluation of equipment and systems, providing an assurance that the rig’s equipment is fit for purpose. Condition evaluations can help prevent potentially costly system failures, indicate areas where there is a need for improvement and give a good indication on the current operability status of a rig.
The areas of our assessment are also focused and pay particular attention to all Safety and Environmentally Critical Elements and all equipment that could be expected to cause operational downtime in the event of failure. Deficiencies within the maintenance system can be identified and safety critical issues will be highlighted.
The areas of our assessment may include, but are not limited to:
– Drilling Equipment
– Well Control Equipment
– Electrical Equipment
– Jacking System
– Engine Room Equipment
– Safety Equipment
– Barge Equipment
Our inspectors can carries out full rig inspection, API 4G Cat III and Cat IV Inspections or other specific audit.
In addition, we have developed our own in-house auditing format. The format is designed on individual system groups; detailed checklists are followed, which have been developed through our extensive auditing experience. The checklists provide both standardization of the audit process and produces user friendly results of defects for action and tracking. Our focus on the work scope helps to reduce the amount of time required on site resulting real cost savings to our valued clients.
The results of each individual system and overall rig survey can be easily charted. In this way, direct comparisons can be made for each rig or vessel inspected and trends identified.
RIG ACCEPTANCE AND COMMISSIONING
Almaeer can provide rig commissioning work to determine units and equipment will perform as expected when operations begin.
During commissioning we ensure that construction and installation is carried out to local and international regulatory standards to assure clients that performance and acceptance standards will be met.
The rig commissioning and acceptance service provides more detailed inspections, performance tests and other criteria than rig condition surveys.
Rig commissioning involves a series of tests and inspections, which typically include checks on the drilling equipment, control systems, safety systems, power and utility systems, and other critical components of the rig. This process is critical to ensure that the rig is capable of operating safely and efficiently, and that it meets all regulatory and operational requirements.
BOP/WELL CONTROL
Ensure that all equipment functions correctly and meets the regulatory local and international compliance standards within the industry
Well Control equipment should be given a suitable level of priority as it can be treated as a lifesaving, safety critical equipment. It is vitally important that this equipment is maintained and meets the required compliance standards; this includes all relevant certification, documentation and record keeping.
ALMAEER personnel carry out inspections/audits precisely in accordance to the standards. API Standard 53 is recognized as the standard to which BOP System engineering and operating practices are performed, improving reliability and reducing risks to acceptable levels.
Maintaining the BOP to the proper standards is critically important. Often, major repairs of BOPs when being sent to workshops is just an instance of incompetence to maintain the equipment, which means that BOPs weren’t fit for work prior to being removed from service. This kind of disruption can be prevented by being competent in using and maintaining the equipment properly in the field. Having available data to support that the equipment is within specifications and can continue to operate and perform in a reliable manner is a service that Almaeer can provide to our clients.
DROPS AUDITS
We provide Dropped Objects Surveys and associated support services that can be adapted to suit client requirements
An in-depth survey typically covers, but is not limited to, the following areas:
If a client requires a Dropped Objects Management System incorporated within their organisation, ALMAEER can provide this service, or can audit and put forward recommendations to improve on the existing system.
We can provide the inspection format and guidance on the application to rig crew so that they are able to carry out periodical inspections.
ALMAEER is committed to DROPS prevention and endeavours to make a difference through established training and experience in the field. Our surveyors/auditors are committed to improving safety and eradicating the danger of dropped objects.
JACKING SYSTEM AUDIT
Jacking systems is identified as a critical equipment system on offshore jack-up units
To minimize the risks of failure of the physical assets requires to conduct jacking system assurance audits.
The audit covers the following categories and areas:
RIG SELECTION AND COST EVALUATION
The purpose of the rig selection and cost evaluation service is to ensure that the rigs are assessed correctly to compliance and regulatory standards, where cost evaluations are carried out in a cost-effective manner.
HSE AUDIT
We conduct HSE audit according to client’s Standard of Execellence or our own HSE audit form
The objectives of drilling rigs HSE audit are to maintain a safe place of work through hazard recognition and removal, to verify personnel are following the most effective safety procedures, to make certain the facility, equipment, and operations meet the required standards, health and safety requirements to provide a safe place of work. Also it assure that necessary records supporting the required health and safety activities are maintained.
To conduct HSE audit for a rig(with yard and facilities) inspector use a checklist which covers all areas, operations and standards applicable to health and safety requirements.
THERMOGRAPHIC SURVEY
This provides a valuable insight into thermal patterns helping to identify potential problems and improve efficiency and safety across a range of applications
ALMAEER perform offshore thermographic surveys. In the first instance it helps determine any imminent failures in electrical installations and they can be remedied before this results in breakdowns or incidents.
Infraspection Institute’s standard for Infrared Inspection of Electrical Systems & Rotating Equipment edition 2008, is used as a guideline on the thermographic image interpretation; additionally, API RP 14F is also used regarding temperature parameters.
COMPEX SURVEY
CompEx (Competency in Explosive atmospheres) survey comprise of checking and identifying equipment positioned in explosive atmospheres.
Our hazardous area management plan includes creating a register of every item within the Ex-location. The equipment is inventoried, logged, inspected, tagged and verified for compliance. With each piece of equipment, a detailed Inspection Track Record (ITR) is generated giving full inspection details of the inspection grade completed with full equipment information and protection methods.
Almaeer is a leading hazardous area (Ex) equipment Inspection Company, leading the industry with technology and innovative inspection solutions including Risk Based Inspection. Almaeer follows IEC, API and NEC standards, employing only CompEx or IEC certified inspectors to work on every Ex-inspection.
The result is a detailed report outlining the remedial tasks required to ensure compliance.
MAJOR MAINTENANCE SURVEYS
These surveys are carried out in order to determine the status of work done during refurbishment periods to the required applicable standards.
These surveys are carried out in order to determine the status of work done during refurbishment periods to ensure the unit is operational, and involves assessing the integrity and quality of work to the required regulatory standards.
Inspection and maintenance actions may be initiated based on experience, the manufacturer’s recommendations, and to one or more of the following criteria, but not limited to:
