Project description
ALMAEER has successfully delivered Jacking System Audit and Jacking System Health Check services to a wide range of clients in the UAE for their Jack-Up Barges operating in the UAE.

The purpose of the Jacking System Audit Review was to verify the technical condition, operational functionality and compliance status of the installed jacking systems, ensure their suitability for safe and reliable operations.

Scope of Work and Activities
Jacking System Verification Audits covered the following scope of work:

  • Jacking equipment audit review to OEM and relevant standards indicating gaps where applicable.
  • Monitoring of jacking trials, reviewing the functionality of the complete system operationally.
  • Acceptance of all components and functionality with written documentation.
  • Review recorded preventative maintenance history, in-house inspection reports by rig personnel, and 3rd party survey documentation for the jacking system related equipment and main generators, and indicate gaps where applicable.
  • Review operational certification.
  • Jacking control system audit to OEM and relevant standards.
  • Where required, physically review wear on major components and carry out comparison checks with permissible tolerances using calibrated/certified Vernier and depth gauges.
  • Review jacking system life rating calculations and detailed inspection intervals.
  • Review competency levels.
  • Spud can strength assessment.

Jacking System Health Check is a comprehensive engineering assessment designed to evaluate the overall condition, reliability and performance of the jacking system. Going beyond a standard jacking system inspection, it combines detailed visual and dimensional inspections with engineering analysis, operational data review and conditional trending to identify degradation mechanism, assess component health and predict potential failures. The assessment provides actionable recommendations for maintenance planning, risk reduction and life extension, helping operators optimize system reliability, minimize downtime and make informed asset management decision.

Project Outcome
The audit findings supported the client in identifying potential integrity risk, improving maintenance planning and ensuring safe and reliable jacking operations.
