RIG ACCEPTANCE & COMMISSIONING

ALMAEER provides Rig Acceptance and Commissioning Services for all types of onshore and offshore drilling units.

Our experienced and qualified inspection teams conduct Rig Acceptance assessments to verify that a drilling rig meets contractual specification, applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements prior to take-over by the Operator or mobilized to the field.

During Rig Acceptance, our teams ensure and confirm that the drilling rig is:

  • Technically safe and operationally ready to drill to new rig technical requirements. We assess the readiness of the rig, including the condition of critical equipment and systems; checking and reviewing the rig’s maintenance records and current condition of the rig to evaluate its reliability.
  • Legally and regulatory compliant. That the rig complies with the required industry standards, local and international, additional requirements of the client, and remains fit for purpose.
  • Fully compliant with the drilling operational contract.
  • Capable of delivering the planned Well program without unacceptable risk.
  • In alignment with the Operator’s HSE, Well Control and operational standards. Our competent and highly qualified inspectors ensure that the rig meets the necessary safety and operational standards, and that any potential safety hazards, which could jeopardize personnel or operations, are identified.

Rig Commissioning is an independent pre-operational assurance process involving testing, energization, calibration, functional verification of rig equipment and systems to confirm operational readiness, performance in accordance with design specifications, safety integrity and compliance, prior to the commencement of drilling operations.

During Rig Commissioning our inspectors cover the following scope:

  • They will ensure that the rig’s construction and installation is carried out to local and international regulatory standards to assure clients that design specifications and engineering requirements are met.
  • Tests and inspections will be performed, which typically include checks on the drilling equipment, control systems, safety systems, power and utility systems, and other critical components of the rig.
  • Identification of all potential problems with equipment or systems prior to the rig leaving the manufacturer.

Our team also provides a Rig Fabricator Facilities Evaluation service to ensure that manufacturer/contractor have the capability to meet applicable international standards and project-specific requirements.
