Project description
In 2024 ALMAEER was awarded a contract to provide Rig Inspection Services for ERIELL GROUP on their land rig ZJ-70 based in Uzbekistan.
The rig was planned to be deployed for an international drilling project outside Uzbekistan and required a thorough evaluation of its technical condition and compliance with international standards.
Scope of Work and Activities
This Project consisted of two main phases:
- Phase 1 – Rig Condition Survey. A detailed assessment the overall technical condition of the rig and its associated equipment.
- Phase 2 – API RP 4G CAT IV Inspection (including NDT Inspection). A comprehensive Category IV inspection in accordance with API RP 4G/8B/7L.
The objectives of the inspection and audit program included:
- Assess equipment availability and readiness as per Client Audit Procedure for Drilling, Workover and Well Service Units.
- Assess the technical condition of the rig and associated equipment for upcoming project(s).
- Fully recertify the drilling unit and associated components to all recognized local and international standards, covering API STD 53 / API RP 4G/8B/7L CAT inspections.
- Safety and Environmental Critical Elements Management.
- Review the Contractor Management System with respect to rigs and associated equipment and assess their implementation.
- Assess the contractor`s personnel level of training and competence.
- Assess sub-contractor’s management.
Project Outcome
The findings and recommendations enabled ERIELL to address identified deficiencies, confirm the rig’s readiness for international deployment, and ensure the compliance with applicable industry standards.
